A Day at RYZE as an AI-animated film

Animated films, as we know them from the cinema, are extremely labour-intensive productions. Large teams of specialist designers and animators spend many days and weeks working on them to transport the audience into another world for a short while.

The advent of AI tools in film production is revolutionising this creative process. Today, we are able to bring stories to life – stories that were previously only feasible with large budgets – in less time and at a significantly lower cost. In short: AI is breaking down the barriers to creativity that were previously imposed by time and budget constraints.

At RYZE, we have long relied on various AI tools to develop realistic visual worlds and intricate stories, as these open up entirely new creative possibilities. With this project, we now wanted to apply the potential of these technologies to the genre of animated film. We wanted to explore what possibilities exist and how closely we could replicate the classic cinematic experience of an animated film.

At the same time, we wanted to create a story that people would enjoy following. Because whilst the volume of AI-generated content is growing daily – and with it, an ever-increasing amount of ‘AI slop’ – emotion, relatability and good storytelling remain the key factors in capturing attention and inspiring lasting enthusiasm.

By taking a light-hearted look at a ‘typical’ day at RYZE, we wanted to tell a story that entertains, allows viewers to relate to it, and at the same time showcases the possibilities of modern AI-powered film production.

The focus was not on the technology itself, but on the creative idea. The concept, narrative structure and direction were developed by people and then brought to life using a combination of various AI tools. Characters, backgrounds and scenes underwent numerous iterations before being animated and brought together into the finished film through a traditional post-production process involving editing, music and sound design.

The result is an animated film that explores the creative potential of AI whilst demonstrating how important human creativity remains for compelling storytelling.

The result is a film that stirs emotions and allows viewers to relate to it. We highlight the possibilities that AI offers us in film, and have ventured into a genre that, without AI tools, we could only have realised with a great deal of effort and a substantial budget. But above all, we are telling a story that touches the heart.
