The Lufthansa Group is a leading European airline group. In 2023, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group welcomed more than 120 million passengers on board, including Lufthansa Airlines, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings. For such a well-known global group, a modern annual report is needed that provides a quick insight into the group of companies. RYZE Digital was therefore faced with the major task of bringing this report into a contemporary format.
The first joint annual report was to become a foundation for the Lufthansa Group's further collaboration with RYZE Digital. The establishment of good communication structures, a cooperative way of working and a mutual understanding of internal processes was essential for this. In order to adequately address the Lufthansa Group's wide range of stakeholders, the online annual report needed to be flexible and customisable. Important information should be recognisable and comparable at a glance. At the same time, a digital annual report in the form of a PDF was to be created, containing all information in one file.
Regular consultations and planning were essential for the successful realisation of this complex project. This is because the Lufthansa Group uses the SmartNotes disclosure management system to create the content of the report. From this, our in-house content management system Ecoma can automatically create an online report.
For this to work smoothly, the formats must be agreed in advance. This process is time-consuming for a first report, but promises significant time and cost benefits for further reports, as it can build on the knowledge from the previous year. The strategy for the annual report is therefore designed to optimise long-term cooperation with successively increasing synergy effects between RYZE Digital and the Lufthansa Group.
With its attractive design, the new annual report effectively emphasises the Lufthansa Group's third-best financial year. The goal of a modern annual report has not only been achieved on the surface, but the content of the HTML version of the report also stands out from other reports thanks to its clarity and customisable filter functions.
The "Reporting Cockpit" provides readers with easy access to topic-based report content. The cockpit also offers the option of creating a reading list. All important key figures can be found quickly in the key figure comparison and can be compared interactively and exported in Excel format. All chapters of the annual report are available online as subpages. The entire report is available for download in the form of an interactive PDF. This means that not only the Lufthansa Group's financial year is flying high, but also its reporting.
