Driven by the continuing high demand for air travel, the Lufthansa Group further expanded its services in the 2024 financial year and flew a total of more than 130 million passengers safely to their destinations. RYZE Digital once again accompanied the global airline group on this mission with the complete realisation of the online annual report and a comprehensive PDF. This time, the focus was on the further development and optimisation of the concept developed in 2023.

The Lufthansa Group connects people, cultures and economies in a sustainable way. This is and remains the company's mission statement and is also the title of the second jointly implemented annual report. It is intended as a further development of the reporting foundation laid in 2023. To this end, we have looked at the existing structures and processes and optimised them further.

In order to adequately address the Lufthansa Group's wide range of stakeholders, the online annual report should once again be particularly flexible and customisable. This also means that important information is immediately recognisable and can be compared with the previous year's figures.

For the 2024 annual report, RYZE Digital once again worked very closely with the client and introduced a number of innovations into the process. The Lufthansa Group prepares the content of the report using the SmartNotes disclosure management system. From this, our in-house content management system Ecoma can create an online report largely automatically. We also used the Word Connector for the PDF with 403 pages. This also allows content to be read into InDesign almost completely automatically. We also split the process strategically and brought forward elements of the website for the online annual report in a separate project, such as the design of the new homepage or tests for the imports to Ecoma.

When it came to harmonising the format, it was possible to build on the previous year's knowledge, which resulted in significant time and cost benefits. Overall, the strategic approach to the annual report is designed to optimise collaboration in the long term, in which more and more synergy effects between RYZE Digital and the Lufthansa Group are to be successively exploited.

The new annual report once again impresses with its attractive design, which is also supported by many integrated real and animated videos. The online report not only stands out from the "mass of reports" with its clarity thanks to individually adjustable filter functions, but has also further improved the reading experience with many small optimisations.

The "Reporting Cockpit" gives users easy access to topic-based report content. All important figures can be found quickly in the key figure comparison, can be compared interactively and exported in Excel format. Each report chapter is also available online as a subpage and the entire report can be downloaded in PDF format. Another new addition is an archive function that allows you to easily switch back and forth between the 2023 and 2024 reports. All in all, we can only say: a precision landing for the Lufthansa Group and RYZE Digital in terms of reporting.
