In the first part of our series on corporate video, we showed that videos are playing an increasingly important role in corporate communications. They are excellent tools for reaching different target groups individually. The range of corporate videos is now huge - there are correspondingly many ways to convey your company's message. In this part of the series, we present the genres of explanatory video, video interview, video testimonial, recruiting video and industry video.
Explanatory video
"How-to" videos or explanatory videos are ideal for conveying concentrated knowledge. Many companies therefore use this form for their instructions for use and publish them on YouTube. A good decision, as the high overall access figures prove. No wonder, as explanatory videos teach customers in a simple way how a product or service works and how to use it correctly. Even complex processes can be presented in an understandable and, above all, compact way with an explanatory film. Another advantage: if carefully produced, such "step-by-step instructions" can discreetly but concisely emphasise the benefits of the manufacturer. By the way, explanatory videos can be created as real films with real images and purely animated.

Video interview and video testimonial
Video interviews with company-relevant protagonists have one major advantage: they can be carefully planned and appear authentic despite the script. This emphasises the trustworthiness of a company. However, the films can also be guerrilla-style - for example, when a customer group is asked to submit self-shot videos from their perspective for a landing page or a company social media channel. Like CEO videos, video interviews belong to the group of corporate videos with the highest credibility.
In this video, we interviewed the CEO of MünchenerHyp about the 2018 Annual Report:
A video testimonial is a customer review via video. In it, a testimonial - i.e. a person with whom customers can identify - gives an authentic, short testimonial about the company or a product. This makes video testimonials an excellent way of convincing potential customers of the benefits of a product or service.
Recruiting video
Would you like to recruit new employers using moving images? Then shoot a recruiting or employer branding video! In such a film, you can make your company appealing to potential applicants and score points with authentic insights. The protagonists in these films are usually real employees who talk about their day-to-day work in the company. Instead of just describing the future place of work, the tasks and, above all, the team of future colleagues in words in a job advert, a recruiting video gives applicants real insights into everyday working life. This appeals to a young target group in particular.

Industrial video
Industrial videos usually show technical manufacturing processes and special features in production. Specialised know-how of the manufacturer can also be conveyed in the films. Whether documentary or dramatically staged with the highest perfection and a lot of film technology: An industrial video puts a company's expertise in the field of manufacturing or production in the right light. In this way, the films provide a professional insight into a company's capabilities. This genre is typically used for B2B marketing, investor pitches, sales talks or at trade fairs.
